NBR Hair Extensions FAQs
How long do NBR hair extensions last?
For me, I can go 10 weeks before needed to get them adjusted. It just depends the speed at which your hair grows. On average, NBR hair extensions last 6-8 weeks before needing to get them adjusted and the hair should be replaced after about 12 months (depending on how well they are maintained).
How much do NBR extensions cost?
Hair extensions are not cheap. It is a big commitment but you should be confident that your stylist is committed to making sure you’re a candidate for NBR hair extensions first with a consultation. At that time, you will discuss your personalized needs to get the hair you want. Each salon will vary, but you should expect to invest $1,000 to $2,500 depending on the stylist/salon. This may or may not include color/cut/styling. Make sure to confirm with your stylist during the consultation.
Do NBR extensions damage your hair?
As a rule of thumb, the more areas you attach the extensions to, the more damage you experience, regardless of which method you choose. When NBR hair extensions were created, the end goal was to find a method that delivered more fullness, with less damage. I’m going to speak to this only from a personal experience, everyone is different and everyone may care for their NBR hair extensions differently. So far I have noticed zero damage to my hair; when I had tape-in extensions, I started noticing damage after about a month, which is why I had them removed. With NBR there is no glue or taping. I’m beyond pleased with the experience I’ve had so far with natural beaded rows.
Can you wear your hair up with NBR extensions?
Yes! This was a MUST for me. I love wearing high ponytails and showed my stylist how I wear them to make sure 1. I could wear my hair in a high ponytail, and 2. that the NBR hair extensions wouldn’t be visible.
Can you wash and style your hair like normal with NBR extensions?
I have had no issues styling my hair exactly the same way as I did without NBR hair extensions. Of course it does take longer and I never really did anything super fancy with my hair before, but yes, I can wash/style my hair like normal with NBR hair extensions.
