Reese Witherspoon Looks Like Elle Woods All Grown Up in These Glasses

Hollywood’s biggest bookworm just stepped out in New York City looking like Harvard Law’s blondest bombshell. Reese Witherspoon’s glasses remind us of Elle Woods, the girl who ended misogyny once and for all back in 2001 when she became Harvard Law School’s valedictorian.

By now you may have noticed that the winds of style have decreed that glasses are back in a big way. Reese Witherspoon was photographed in New York City wearing a pair of thick black frames, not to mention coral lips and a side part. We’re so back, bitch.

Of course, we know Reese means business in real life and just in character. She runs a very popular book club—you may have heard of it, runs a production company, and is a mother, all while being 5′ 1″. But these glasses really help me put into perspective what our girl Elle might be up to in 2024. Surely, she’s made partner at the firm, won high profile cases, maybe gone on to teach at HLS. Maybe she’s left her life as a lawyer and gone on to use that Fashion Merchandising degree from UCLA, like real life lawyer-turned-designer, Batsheva Hay. Either way, she’s serving looks and serving justice.

Reese Witherspoon is seen in Midtown on April 11, 2024 in New York City.

More on glasses. ICYMI, cool girls are wearing glasses again. Bella Hadid, Gabbriette, Billie Eilish, Renee Rapp. It’s equal parts goth, equal parts faux low maintenance, and there’s a reason the trend is being popularized by girls with sanpaku eyes. But if that’s not you, fear not. Reese is proof that glasses look hot on even the non-goth, doe-eyed types.
